The 4th annual Hike for Hospice at Olinger Mount Lindo will be Sunday, June 28, 2009. This event is to benefit  Porter Hospice and St. Anthony Hospice.  Enjoy the spectacular views and climb to 7600 feet tot he top of Olinger Mount Lineo, home of the illuminated cross in Morrison.  Release a dove in honor of a loved one. Come enjoy a guided tour through the secluded Evergreen Cemetery adn find out who is buried there - Civil War soldures, rancher, pioneer women as well as Dwight Wilmot, who named Evergreen, Amos Post, who started the general store, the Dedisse family and other important local families. The tour will be on Saturday June 27, 2009 starting at 2pm and led by historian and Trustee of the Bear Creek Cemetery Association, Hank Alderfer with the assitance of John Kirkpatrick.  There is a $5/person admission with proceeds going to the Jefferson County Historical Society.

Participants in the tour can arrive just before 2pm on Jun 27 at the cemetery where they will receive a handout map showing the location of the family plots during the tour.

This presentation is part of the 150th anniversary celebration of the first settlers moving into the Bergen Park, Evergreen and Conifer area.  For more information call 720-497-7650.

The first Annual Dam Jam Music Festival is Jun 26-28 and brought to you by RnG Visuals and Cactus Jack’s Saloon & Grill.  Great bands will play throughout the weekend. This is a kid’s fun run to be held at the Evergreen Rodeo Arena and will include a 50 yard dash plus 1 & 2 mile races.  Registrants receive a Kid’s Training Program that emphasized healty fitness.  A post celebration will follow including great events for the entire family, Denver Broncos Cheerleaders, a petting farm, food & fun.  Proceeds will go to the Children’s Hospital and Rocky Mountain Acadamy of Evergreen.

Ride Free on the horse-drawn Evergreen Towne Trolley down Main Street on Saturdays from 1pm-4pm.  The Trolley will be running through Sept 6th. and riders receive terrific discounts at many of the lcoal merchants.  This event is sponsored by the HeartofEvergreen.com

Are you an ametuer whitewater rafter?  If so, this race is for you!  Gather 5-6 team mates for your raft and join a professional guide down the river.  There will be a party after the race at Tommy Knocker’s Brewery in Idaho Springs where the race results will be announced.
